All Westex Carpets have a Stain Resist treatment applied. Stain Resist protects your carpet against the majority of water based and oil stains – giving you more time to attend to the more easily removed stain.

• How does stain resist work?

  All Westex carpets have a Stain Resist treatment applied. The stain resist formula bonds with the fibre to provide protection against dirt and damp, therefore making caring for the carpet easier.
  Please note Stain Resist is not a stain blocker, this treatment prevents stains from penetrating the fiber and they remain locked on the surface so they can easily be removed slowing the staining down giving time to get the carpet cleaned.

• Longevity

  The performance of the Stain Resist will last 5 years, subject to normal, reasonable use. Shampooing and professional carpet cleaning products cannot break the bonds between the active chemical and fibre.

• Environment

  Stain Resist is free from CFCs and is dermatologically tested. The Stain Resist polymers show no toxicity even at the highest applied levels and no bioavailability, metabolism or hydrolysis.

Moth guard protects your carpet against the attack of both moths and other wool eating insects. Please note synthetic carpets are naturally moth proof as moths feed on keratin which is only found in wool products.

• How does moth guard work?

  The active ingredient in the moth-guard makes the keratin (a protein found in wool) that moths, bugs and other insects thrive upon, indigestible. They literally starve as their digestive systems are unable to convert the keratin they have eaten into usable food.

• Longevity

  The moth-guard combines with the wool fibre on a permanent basis and will last the life time of the carpet.

• Environment

  Westex’s award winning moth-guard process has had scientific testing, both toxicologically and ecologically, to establish that there is no harm to human health or effluent waste.

This treatment inhibits the growth of bacteria therefore maintaining the cleanliness of the carpet.

• How does fresh guard work?

  Westex Carpets are protected against mould fungi and bacteria inhibiting the growth of these allergens keeps your carpet fresher for longer.

• Longevity

  This treatments combines with the fibres on a permanent basis and will last the life time of the carpet. Shampooing and professional carpet cleaning products cannot break the bonds between the active chemical and fibre.

  This treatment has been subjected to toxicologically and ecological testing, to establish that there is no harm to human health, pet health, or the environment. It is tested to OECD 404 and 406 to qualify as no irritation or sensitisation.

Allergy Guard protects against pests, bacteria and allergens.

• How does allergy guard work?

  The active ingredient in the treatment does not allow the debris (human skin, hair etc.) to decay into the food that the dust mites thrive upon, thus there is no environment for them to exist or thrive in. This will also inhibit the development of bacteria and mould.
